ILUC study now available online

Our consortium is pleased to announce the publication of the final report of our study on ILUC using the GLOBIOM model.

The study performed by Ecofys, IIASA and E4tech in 2013-2015 builds on best available science on the topic and benefits from many inputs received through consultations and exchanges with stakeholders and scientists.

The report can be accessed on the European Commission website through this link.

The project is now formally closed but feedbacks and comments will still be collected on the email address ILUC@ecofys.com.

Improvements to GLOBIOM for ILUC assessment (October update)

Before starting the actual ILUC modelling, the consortium updates the GLOBIOM model. In spring 2014, the consortium agreed after consultation of stakeholders, advisory committee and the European Commission, on a list of model improvements.

The consortium is pleased to circulate the final description of research performed on the topics raised, the methodological assumptions followed, and the changes implemented into GLOBIOM to improve the model. This version takes into account comments received in October on the previous version released (available here).

Detailed improvements to the GLOBIOM model for ILUC assessment (revised)

The project now has to move to the next phase of baseline and scenario modelling. We will keep stakeholders informed of the outcome of the modelling early in 2015.

Final selection of improvements, baseline and scenarios

In February-March 2014, the project consortium organised a stakeholder consultation on the draft version of the list improvements to GLOBIOM, as well as the draft proposal for the modelling baseline and scenarios. As part of the consultation, a series of meetings were organised. The minutes from these sessions are now available on the website.

After careful consideration of input obtained through the consultation and discussions with the EC steering committee, we are posting the final versions of these documents:

The coming months will be devoted to the implementation of the changes to GLOBIOM. We will communicate on our progress over the summer.

New website launched, new documents published
